It was a crazy experience bringing this song to fruition. Dan and Rick had written some lyrics and Kip Phillips had written and recorded some music that was given to me on a cassette tape that he had recorded at Vagrant Records and copied via Kip's boom box. Luckily, both Kip and I lived in the Seattle area at the time, so it was easy to connect.
Sometime in February 2001, I met him over at Vagrant to record the vocals a few weeks later, after I had figured out all of the vocal parts. I had to rearrange the lyrics a bit and write another verse at the end because there was a lot of music and solos and stuff to work in. All and all I was pretty happy with it.
After we had laid down the vocals, Vagrant's Erik-4A asked if I had any other songs and I said "why yes, and I've been looking for a producer too." The rest is history (well, it will be history, once the Poltergeist EP is ever released :-)
